Well Gary, Bob McG (any relation to Eddie??) is an interesting character. I like the man, he was very restrained interviewing Andrew Bolt the other night. And yes, his "Hillsong" response was good. I'm not a Hillsong fan if it comes to that. The "prosperity gospel" isn't a big message from my bible.

But as regards singing, maybe in this day and age, people are as keen on worship (including through song) as on sound teaching? So, it's just a matter of getting the balance right.

And as we seem to be moving from the Enlightenment ("age of reason") that followed the Dark Ages, into a new "age of experience", where people decide what is true based on their personal experiences, this presents new challenges to the church. Especially in not compromising the absolute truths in Christ.

Whereas in the "age of reason" the teaching and doctrine were
of utmost importance, now the post-modern concern is more how good is the worship - clearly a healthy mix of the two is best!
