Is debating good?
I received an email from a very strong christian woman friend of mine today and would like to pass on a paragraph of her email. I had asked her if she still debates on message boards and lists etc, and this was her answer:
Lately I have been thinking that is how the devil got Eve to sin in the first place. Debating God's word. Paul warns us against that. There is a difference between debating to convince people to accept your view vs. discussing in order to have a better understanding of God's word. I believe if there is sincerity of heart the Holy Spirit will give the same answer to each who diligently seeks.
